It is entirely different to say that when we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, and when that faith is real and not just a facade or attempt to lie to God, then that faith produces good works and obedience as a result every time that faith is real. Your Lord is the one you trust and obey. If you trust and obey selfishness, narcissism, arrogance, lust, cowardice, greed, to the point where you disobey Christ to obey sin, then Satan is your Lord–not Jesus. We should not be calling Jesus Lord, Lord if we do not what He says. We should be calling Satan Lord, Lord if we obey Satan. So who do you obey? Jesus most of the time? Satan does that. Most of the time. Whenever there is no cause for conflict, good and evil people do the same thing. It is only when Satan demands one thing and God demands another. If Satan calls you to lie and God calls you to tell the truth, do you lie but tell the truth whenever there is no conflict? When you’re tempted to watch socially acceptable porn and celebrate sin, evil, mayhem, gore, fornication, adultery, and pay actors to sin against God so you can watch as a peeping tom might look through a window, do you cave? Do you love sin more than Christ? Do you fight this reasoning saying God wants you to have fun and the only way you can have fun is to sin a little, so God will understand? Would it upset you to know He understands more than you think He does? On judgment day, when Satan makes his case against you crying out to God for your damnation and demanding it based on the fact that it would be unjust to send him to hell for his sins while sending you to heaven for yours, will Jesus be able to come to your defense as your advocate? Will He be able to say honestly that you have really repented of your sins, or will he have to say honestly that He did not know you, that you tried to play Him for a fool, that you never repented, that you continued to live in sin, that you took delight in hurting God, thwarting His authority over you and contending for the very sin He called you to come out of? Will you be found to be one who has led your friends and family to hell through cowardice and just wanting to fit in? Will you be left to face an eternity without love, without forgiveness, without salvation, without escape, without end? Have you trusted your eternal soul to a false hope, a false repentance, a false salvation? Are you living in sin now?”
